A Very sad loss indeed.

As you know I am from the same community that these gentlemen are from. I had the pleasure of spending some time with them at a friends wedding in Dubai a couple years back. I don't know them well enough to say much else, apart from the fact that I feel for their families, their children and their close friends. I know how much they will all be missed and how London jumaat (community) will probably take a long time to recover from this ordeal. They were very much an active force behind anything that went on and, well, even though I only spent a couple weeks with them in Dubai, I still don't understand how such nice men will no longer be with us.

I hope everyone else in Iraq at the moment (my friends parents etc.) come back safe and sound and there are no more tragedy's like this.

In my prayers you will remain.

Well, I went and done it!

Done what I hear you ask? Has he gone and got married? LOL, hell no. Have I gone and crashed my car... nope. Thank God. Isn't it funny when someone says "I went and done it", you sort of automatically think that it's going to be something bad, or something that they know they shouldn't have. Anyway, that's not the case here. Last weekend I went house hunting. Now, a while ago I said this was going to the next thing on my agenda, I mean, after the redundancy's I needed to sort out in my head what my next step was, and it was definately getting the hell out of Caroline's and getting a place of my own. I'm literally spending every evening round a friends place cos I'm simply that bored at my own. When I had a housemate I was speaking to it was pretty cool, but she decided to have a "moment", and well, that's just something that I could talk and talk about but won't. She is, to put it simply, not worth the effort. So, you can see where this is going. After much deliberation of where I wanted to look for a house, I decided upon the lovely down of Basingstoke. A good friend of mine from work lives there and it offers things which you just need from a town you're living in. Shopping Centre, cinemas, etc etc (In case you didn't know Fleet has none of these!). So anyway, I checked out RightMove and sorted out a few viewings. The rest as they say is history. I saw a place I really liked, and the offer was accepted on the Tuesday. So, I've bought a house! How freaking grown up is that of me? It's a small(ish) 2 bed semi detached property in a cul-de-sac in south Basingstoke. About 14-16 miles from Fleet. It's got pretty much everything I was looking for in a house, and the only thing that let it down was the fact that it's not double glazed, oh and the interior decor is not to my taste, which I'll be sorting out myself when I move in. So, something to look forward to. At the moment, when I'm going to be moving in is a question that I don't know the answer to. The sale could fall through, anything could happen. So fingers crossed and I'm hoping by February I'll be sorting out movers and furniture!

Okay, so what else? Well, I'm back in Leicester on a last minute whim. I wasn't supposed to be coming back this weekend, but a few friends are getting together, going out for dinner, and I didn't have much planned down south so I thought I might as well come up and chill out. I saw my sister's new car. Well, when I say new, its 1997 Mazda 323F. And it's not half bad. It looks really nice and I'm gonna try and get some pictures on to FlickR. Speaking of cars, I may even have to think twice about my car if I end up doing 30+ miles a day when I move to Basingstoke. The fact is, if I got a 1.6 (at the moment my Audi is a 1.8 Turbo), I'd be saving I'm guessing about £400 a year on fuel alone. Now I love driving as much as the next guy, but when it comes to pissing £400 away out the back of your exhaust, something has to give.

Next week, well, that short break away which I was talking about it happening. Thursday through to Saturday. Where am I going? haha, you'll find out when I come back with the pictures. Oh yeah, I keep forgetting to upload that test that HR lady did at that interview, have to remember to do that as soon as I get back to Fleet. It's well worth reading. Speaking of well worth reading, the hits for my blog have dropped this month. I knew they couldn't keep growing like they are, and this is only the 2nd post this month so maybe that's it. But they've diminished to about just over half of last months. Weird.

Anyway, New Years is literally around the corner and 1st year for this blog. It's flown past, and a hell of a lot has happened. Who knows whats going to be in store for me next year? Answers on a postcard!

That's it from me, check out some new pictures I've uploaded including some from my cousins wedding this summer just gone (yes the ones I promised like 3 months ago!) and I will hopefully post again very soon.

5 days in Leicester

I have needed this break like a mofo! It's been good. I got back to Leicester on Wednesday afternoon. Since then, haven't done a whole lot to be honest. I did go shopping on Thursday and managed to pick up some trainers which I've been meaning to buy for ages and a decent coat which I picked up in Debenhams. Got a fluffy hood and everything ;) Proper Gangsta no?

Okay, so I got some shopping done. I also managed to sort out most of the little bits and bobs that have been niggling me. Well, when I say sorted, I mean that I know what I'm going to do about some of them. Others I've just forgot about now. For example... at the moment. I am single. That's fairly obvious and a very well known fact. And yes, I am getting some kind of pressure to stop being a bit of a free-spirit and settle my ass down. But this is the thing, I can't just meet someone, and boom... it don't work like that unfortunately. If we all lived in mother-India and it was 1930 then maybe. But unfortunately, we all have things that we look for in another person. Anyway, that is all I am going to write about that subject for now, lets just that I am not impressed by my mothers taste, at all . *Shakes his head*

I spent most of Friday cleaning my car... then it rained! But I'm glad I cleaned it because it bloody needed it. The inside was filthy. Saturday was spent with a family gathering at my house. We were supposed to go and watch the firework display at Abbey Park, but by the time we'd ate and left the house we got there and it had finished. We did see some of it on the way there, but we should have gone much earlier. So we just came back and then we went out after dropping the kids off.

I'm going back to Fleet tonight. Back at work from tommorow. I think I'll book a couple days off in December for another little weekend break. I think every now and again you need a break. Longer than a weekend but short enough so it's not actually classed as a holiday. Thats why I love Bank Holidays! :) Okay, so you also might have noticed the funky Flickr stuff near the top of the page. Well, this is basically going to used as my new gallery. Maintaining a HTML version is just a pain in the ass and with Flickr it's just that much easier and quicker.

Anyways, enough jabbering on about crap... laters.
